Computer setup

Buying a computer or any new technology for that matter can be very exciting! Technology is constantly changing, allowing us to purchase the latest and greatest devices, for usually, a reasonable price. Although, the act of purchasing a new pc is exhilarating, setting that device up can be exhausting.

Let Tindall Tech take on the headache of setting up your device. Our process is simple, we will show up and perform the following steps:
Install Required Programs
  • Programs needed are based solely only on your purpose of using the machine. Did you purchase this computer to play games? Or just browse the web? Maybe you are needing a dedicated computer for information/data to be stored for a network drive. No matter your reason for purchasing, just remember to always install software from a trusted website.

Update Drivers
  • Believe it or not, sometimes laptops and computers are sent to the retail locations months prior to you purchasing. Since technology is ever changing, usually there are drivers you need to install to ensure adequate performance from your newly purchased machine. Not installing these, can lead to computer slowness, risk of virus, errors, and you regretting that you purchased the machine!

Install Virus Protection
  • There are more than 1 billion malware programs out there. These programs are very smart and love to hide in places like your software downloads, emails, online ads, fake prompts, and several other places.

Setup Internet Security

  • “Back in the day” this was probably not needed, but as more websites and software are created, the more threats there are to worry about. Internet security provides a sense of relief that you can browse the World Wide Web with minimal concerns.

Setup Recovery Media/USB

  • This is probably one of the most overlooked steps in a new computer setup. No one wants to think about “if this computer crashes” because it is a new device! But I assure you, one day your brand new, state of the art pc will die. When this happens, it is crucial that you have a backup image to avoid disruption to your workflow!
